Shadowing opportunities: Shadowing is a key
experience for students pursuing health related fields. Shadowing provides
an in-depth look at prospective careers, confirms interest, and acts as
a learning opportunity. As a member of PPMS you will have multiple opportunities
to network with local professionals, allowing you to establish contacts
for future shadowing opportunities. At our meetings you will be able to
approach our speaker, a local professional, and discuss shadowing opportunities
and exchange contact information.
Volunteering opportunities: PPMS is dedicated
to contributing to the local community through numerous volunteer projects.
PPMS offers its members multiple volunteer opportunities including, but
not limited to, Camp Boggy Creek, Coalition for the Homeless, Special Olympics,
Winter Park Day Nursery, Habitat for Humanity, and Give Kids the World.
Thanks to our dedicated members, PPMS was recognized by volunteer UCF as
logging more volunteer hours than any other large organization on the UCF
campus in 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, and 2008-2009.
Leadership opportunities: Members of PPMS
have amble opportunity to demonstrate their leadership abilities through
participation in events and by applying for directorships. At the end of
each academic year, members have the opportunity to run for an officer position
for the upcoming academic year.
Leadership Positions:
Officers: PPMS has six officer positions including Sergeant at Arms, Treasurer, Secretary, Professional School Information Officer, Vice President, and President. Officers have the opportunity to influence policy making decisions inside the organization and are in charge of the day to day management of the organization.

The responsibilities of directors varies according to the specific directorship (see below), however, all directors serve a crucial role in PPMS.
